Product Information
The Chasseur round casserole is one of the most iconic pieces of cookware developed in decades. Traditionally made in the French region of Ardennes, the cast iron dishes are the ultimate product in slow cooking. They are made by craftsmen who have used the same techniques that have produced these highly adaptly casseroles for over 70 years.
These traditional round dishes are extremely versatile. The cast iron body distributes the heat evenly and they can be used on all types of hobs (including induction), whilst being easily transferable from hob to oven. The phenolic lid knobs are ovenproof to 200°C and the double enamelled coating makes the pan easy to clean & very durable.
A special design feature on the underside of the lid means condensation drips down during cooking ensuring your end result is moist and effortless. All products are dishwasher safe - please refer to our 'Use & Care' tabs for more information about looking after this product.

Use & Care
Enamelled Cast Iron is cast iron that is covered with a porcelain surface. The result is a pan that has the same even heat distribution and retention qualities as cast iron but with added rust prevention properties and a non-reactive, low-stick surface. This makes it perfectly safe to leave cooked food in, and to refrigerate. The enamel coating also eliminates the seasoning and cleaning issues of bare cast iron.
Tips on use and care:
- If the pot is knocked or dropped the enamel can chip. Do not use a pan that has a chipped interior. It is not possible to re-enamel chipped pans.
- Do not overheat or heat the pan when empty or the enamel may craze and then chip.
- Wash the pans with detergent and a soft pad, but avoid using anything abrasive as the surface can be scratched and damaged.
- If food is stuck on soak the pan for half and hour and remove the softened food with a wooden spoon.
- Do not use the pots to stew berry fruits as this can damage the enamel.
- Never use metal implements with enamelled cast iron.
- Pans with ground flat bases are suitable for all hob types including induction.
Tips on use and care for Enamelled Cast Iron Frying Pans:
- Frying pans made of enamelled cast iron usually have a hard wearing black enamel lining. Treat in exactly the same way as described for plain cast iron.
- When treated with a non-stick lining be especially careful not to overheat the pan or use metal implements on it.
