Product Information

Suitable for quick chopping & dicing of tough vegetables.

Born out of a collaboration between Taylor's Eye Witness and award winning design studio 'Industrial Facility', the Sheffield Made Forged range was designed by Royal Designer for Industry Sam Hecht. The high-carbon stainless steel blade is a combination of carbon, chromium, molybdenum and vanadium paired with a handle which takes a simple look at functionality.

Sheffield Made Forged blades are made from a single piece of high-carbon stainless steel and are precision ground to provide excellent strength, flexibility and lasting sharpness (please be aware that the carbon in the steel will darken the colour of the blade, but will not rust like pure carbon steel bladed knives - check our 'Use & Care' tab for more information about looking after this product). The knife is easy to sharpen and difficult to blunt, but can easily be maintained with a sharpening steel or worktop sharpener from our Knife Accessories range.

The handles are shaped to fit perfectly in the hand, the endstop preventing the knife from accidentally slipping. The handle is made from resistant polypropylene making it suitable for the dishwasher, but we do advise that hand washing will be better in the long term for this knife. Each handle is secured with three solid brass rivets and hand finished by Sheffield craftsmen in the same tradition as they have been for generations. This knife is a modern day classic.

Use & Care

  • DO - use wooden or plastic chopping boards to avoid blunting the blade. Available in our Chopping Boards section on the website.
  • DO - Browse our Knife Accessories for sharpeners and professional steels to keep your knives performing at their best potential.
  • DO - remove stain spots with a soft cloth & a stainless steel polish (these only appear due to the high levels of carbon in the knife which keep the product sharp & one of leading brands in the industry).
  • DO NOT - leave knives to stand in a dishwasher, either at the start or end of the the cycle (remove and hand dry when cycle has completed).
  • DO NOT - use steel wool or a scouring powder as this can remove sharp fragments and scratch the surface of the blade.
