Use & Care
Ceramic Knives are easy to use and simple to clean. Each knife has an ABS resin handle which is suitable for dishwashers, but care for these knives is essential due to their fragile nature. As with other high-quality knives, we suggest that they are handwashed. We also recommend using wooden or plastic chopping boards to prevent the blade of the knife from blunting quickly. Kyocera ceramic blades are very sharp and should always be handled with extra care.
Key points:
- DO NOT drop the knife as this increases the probability that the blade will come off (blades are not replaceable).
- DO NOT use the knives for levering open product lids.
- DO NOT tilt the knife when cutting, chop with a vertical pushing action.
- DO NOT cut frozen food or bones with the knife (the knives are made specifically to suit either vegetables, fillets of meat/fish/poultry and fruits).
- DO regular sharpen your knife to keep it working at its full potential - should the tip break off, you can sharpen it down to size again.
